Description :

In the Indian style, this Bodhisattva wears his hair medium-length, folded over the top of his head in a bun with a fabric headband closed with a knot. The waves consist of parallel furrows framing the face. The earlobes are deformed and a fold marks the neck.


Observation :

This head is recorded twice in the "Catalogue of the National Museum of Afghanistan". The first time is on p. 412, K.p. Ha. 1123.190 from plate 55b' of Barthoux, the second time p. 441, K.p. Ha. 1230.297 from Barthoux plate 55b.
