Tapa Kalān - Figure
This Buddha head, in Indian profile, is very well preserved. The hairstyle is completely stylised: the undulation is indicated in negative by series of cavities. Similarly is treated the uṣnīṣa placed high on the forehead. The facial expression is withdrawn, impassive. It is noticeable that the earlobes are very largely deformed.
