Tapa Kalān - Figure
The face of this Buddha is of Central-Asian inspiration. The forehead is curved, the painted eyebrows draw a very large flat arch. The lower part of the face is square, massive, accentuated by round cheeks. The ūrṇā is placed very high on the forehead, indicated by a stucco button. The hair and uṣnīṣa are stylised and consist of recessed, crescent-shaped notches. The ears were certainly deformed.
