Description :

The asymmetry of the face - the drooping eyes, the frowning eyebrow, the irregular nose, almost hooked in profile, the mouth sketching a cornered smile - give this Buddha an expressive, compassionate air, different from his usual expression, distant and withdrawn in deep meditation. As usual, the chin and cheeks are round. Only the top of the forehead remains of the hairstyle, the locks are stylized, represented by wavy hollowed out furrows. There seems to be a small cavity between the eyebrows, probably for the inlay of the ūrṇā. One notes the presence of an engraved circle at the place of the philtrum.
