Tapa Kalān - Figure
This very eroded Buddha's head is slightly brachycephalic. It looks like the ūrṇā in the center of the forehead has been ripped off. The strands of hair are represented by wavy grooves that have been hollowed out.The face presents characteristics of various origins: the straight cut of the eye and the small thin mouth are hellenizing, the eyebrow arches not very marked and the wide nose is more reminiscent of Indian artistic canons. The face is round, and the earlobes were probably deformed.
