Bāgh Gaï - Figure
This middle-aged warrior has a shaved chin and a moustache. The hair is treated in twisted curls that fall down to frame the face. The very eroded state of the hair makes it impossible to be certain, but perhaps he was wearing a headdress. The earlobes are deformed, and a thick disc-shaped curl is visible on the left ear.
Observation :We believe that this head has been recorded twice in the "Catalogue of the National Museum of Afghanistan". The first time is on p. 421, K.p. Ha. 1159.226 from fig. 83d of Barthoux's publication, the second time on p. 423, K.p. Ha. 1164.231 from a photo in S. Mizuno 1963, p. 153.
