Head of Buddha

The skull is slightly brachycephalic, so the eyes seem to be set wide apart. The now torn ūrṇā was placed high on the forehead. The hair strands are treated in waves parallel to the forehead. The uṣnīṣa, treated in the same way seems girded. The profile is Hellenistic: straight arch of the eyebrow, aquiline nose. His hemmed mouth is animated by a slight smile and his earlobes are widely distended.
