Description
This hybrid demon has an animal face, perhaps canine. The hair is bristling in the shape of flames, and rises up into two small frontal horns. The wide eyes give it a fixed, hallucinatory look. He opens a wide mouth and spits flames, revealing a formidable set of teeth added to boar tusks. The ears are those of a bovine.
Observations
This head has been recorded twice in the "Catalogue of the National Museum of Afghanistan". The first time P. 455, K.p. Ha. 1284.351 from a photo by S. Mizuno, 1963: 167 or Rowland, 1966, fig.54, the second time P. 456, K.p. Ha. 1285.352 from fig. 99b of Barthoux.
