Dr. Alexandra Vanleene

Biographie

À l'origine du projet Haḍḍa Archéo Database, Alexandra Vanleene est docteure ès Sciences de l'Antiquité, spécialiste de l'art et de l'archéologie bouddhiques du Gandhāra. Ses recherches portent principalement sur la tradition artistique du modelage dans le décor des monastères bouddhiques de l'Afghanistan, particulièrement à Haḍḍa, sur l'expansion géographique de l'art du Gandhāra et sur le développement de ses caractéristiques régionales. De 2005 à 2012, elle occupe la fonction de responsable d'opération archéologique dans le cadre de la mission franco-afghane pour la prospection et les fouilles de Bāmiyān dirigée par le Pr. Zémaryalaï Tarzi. Depuis 2021, elle participe au Digital Gandhāra Project du Harvard FAS CAMLab en tant que conseillère scientifique indépendante.
