Head of Bodhisattva

The traits are marked by a worried expression accentuated by the irregularity of the face. The hair, curled and treated in waves, is damaged. The elaborate bun, made up of large curls, is held in place by a half-circle diadem. Only two small pearls can be seen on the side of the damaged tiara. The nose is long, slightly arched. The mouth is thin and does not smile. The ears are broken but show the deformed earlobes. Just above the eyebrows, the forehead is decorated with the ūrṇā.

The face and deep gaze of this Bodhisattva give it a strongly Hellenistic character; this tormented expression, common in Haḍḍa's modelling, has often been compared to works attributed to the Scopas school.
