Description

This Bodhisattva wears a preformed turban with wide borders decorated with medallions and plaques. A central element, perhaps a palmette, is now destroyed. The style is of Central Asian inspiration. The polychromy is particularly well preserved on this work. Eyebrows, ūrṇā, small circle between the nose and the mouth, eye contours, pupils and moustaches were painted or underlined by paint.
