Head of Bodhisattva

Photo by Jules Barthoux ©GrandPalaisRmn - Guimet Museum
Location
Tapa-i Kafarihā
Description
The hair of this Bodhisattva is encircled by a ring closed on the front of the forehead by a loop. The idealized face is of Hellenistic inspiration. The pouting of the face gives the figure a sulky air rather than a smiling look.
