Description

This middle-aged Brahman wears his hair up in a bun. He has a moustache, a shaved chin and a bare chest. Of his clothing, only a paridhāna that surrounds the arm and covers the shoulder is visible. He wears a number of pieces of jewellery: a torque decorated with cabochons, an ornate armband on the left arm and a simple bracelet on each wrist, possibly earrings. In the posture of the orant, the Brahman joins his hands in añjalimudrā. The frowned arches accentuate the depth of his gaze, which he is looking to the left, certainly at a holy figure.
