Description

Bodhisattva head with almost feminine features, of Central Asian inspiration. The hair is treated in wavy strands, folded on themselves. The turban consists of two bands of fabric joined above the forehead by jewels. A stucco disk covering the entire height of the forehead depicts a very large ūrṇā. Her face is delicate: beautiful arch of the eyebrow, almond-shaped eyes, small nose (broken), smiling mouth. There are traces of red paint on the hairstyle, which detaches the forehead from the hair, underlines the mouth and the neck. The broken ears show deformed lobes. Between the nose and the mouth is a small painted circle.
