Description

Although very damaged, this head of Buddha still bore the trace of the gold leaves that covered it. There are still a few wavy strands on the front of the forehead. The face is inspired by Hellenistic works: the eyebrow arch is straight, like the cut of the eye, the nose is aquiline, the mouth is thin. The shape of the face is round, with a slight round double chin.
