Description

This Indian-type Bodhisattva stands out against a large nimbus. He wears a rigid turban bordered by a headband and decorated with gold-plated pieces; a rectangular central plate is surrounded by two medallions. On the top of the headdress, a palmette falls to the front. The hair is treated in round strands rolled up on themselves. Ribbons float, hanging from the turban or the hair. The face is idealised, smiling. The earlobes are deformed.
