Description

Buddha's head very damaged, only the mask of the face remains. The profile is hellenizing: the arcade underlines a slightly swollen eyelid on half-closed eyes, the cheekbones are high, the nose aquiline. The mouth is smiling and the face retains a certain softness according to Indian tradition. There is no trace left of hair, ears or even a stucco button for ūrṇā.
