Head of Brahman

This brahmane has a short, combed beard. The long, wavy hair falls over ears with enlarged lobes. The expression is borrowed from Western art: frowning eyebrows, tormented gaze, half-open lips.

We believe that this head has been recorded twice in the "Catalogue of the National Museum of Afghanistan". The first time is on p. 409, K.p. Ha. 1112.179 from a photo from the private photographic collection of Lolita Nehru or S. Mizuno, 1963, p. 131, the second time on p. 411, K.p. Ha. 1120.187 from fig. 93i of Barthoux's publication.
